I moved to Cambridge in 2015 for graduate school. Although graduate students don't expect to live a "life of luxury", I was surprised at how difficult it was to find suitable housing, and even more surprised by the cost. Consequently, I became acutely aware of the housing crisis and how it affects the biggest line item in most family's budget.
Even so, I really love this area, and now as one of the STEM workers that is driving up housing demand, I see it as my responsibility to advocate for more housing so that my neighbors aren't displaced. ABC has lead the way at getting more housing, and especially more affordable housing built in Cambridge, and I hope you'll join me in supporting that effort!
